Why Wobble Beam Oscillation Revolutionized Handheld Welding

1. Overcoming the Micro-Tolerance Fitup Barrier

A static fiber laser spot is only 0.2 mm wide. Without oscillation, any part gap wider than 0.1 mm causes the beam to shoot right through the joint without melting the edges. Wobble galvanometers sweep the beam across 2.0 - 5.0 mm, transforming the laser from a surgical needle into an adaptable joint-spanning heat source that tolerates typical fabrication shearing tolerances.

2. Keyhole Hydrodynamic Degassing

Rapid mechanical stirring from circular and infinity oscillation keeps the molten puddle fluid longer, allowing trapped gases (such as hydrogen in aluminum or zinc vapor in galvanized steel) to bubble up and escape to the surface rather than freezing into internal pore cavities.
